Monterosso al Mare
A small port sheltered from the wind, the pier, two large beaches. This is Monterosso seen
from the sea. Monterosso looks as if made to measure for man, and the colours of the sea
enhance its beauty. Views of suggestive beauty are reflected in the crystal waters
immersed in the green of the coast. This area offers swimming, sailing, fishing,
underwater photography, trip by boat with stops at the characteristic fishing villages as
well as excursions on mountain-bike or on horseback. Moreover, if you feel like walking,
you can hike along the track across the mountain-side that continues towards the
sanctuaries or along the rocky paths with steep drops down on to the sea that join
together the Cinque Terre among rows of vines, in the shadows of the olive-trees,
holm-oaks, heather and fern.
